☐☐ ☐☐☐ ☐☐☐ ☐☐☐☐ ☐☐

I spent most of my life living high up in the mountain. Among pine and rocks, in a pitiful excuse for a town where I’ve set up a nest. The nearest body of water is a pretty shallow river. We don’t talk about that river. It’s a boring river. I’ve never seen any fish in it, but they do say that it gets a bit more lively as it goes further down the mountain into the plains.

I’ve never wanted to go on that school trip during high school. By no means I wanted to have fun at a beach or dip into the lukewarm waters of the sea itself. I still remember the awful daily breakfast that we would get composed of dry bread and the worst tarator I’ve ever had. Among other awful memories from that trip, the one that stuck with me over the years was how I almost drowned when I decided to dip into the sea for the first time in more than a decade.

Kunoichi Drowned DONE!

If I have to describe the experience of gradually losing oxygen and having water rush inside your nostrils, ears and eyes, all of which is done in differently timed segments, depending on the waves mood, I would say that it was pretty exciting and thrilling. It’s a type of fear which taught me that there is no reason to fear death. Even the cases where pain is a major factor would usually end in a pretty unique bliss. Fear? What fear? Fear gets alight by misunderstanding and lack of proper information. If you’ve known death even a little bit so, you would not have any actual reason to fear it.

During the moment when I was drowning, I felt a lot of sadness building up inside me. It was not however due to my life being endangered, but more so because I felt… really lonely. Even with all the people around who were on the verge of panic, it felt like I was all alone in the whole universe. I wonder why that was?

Perhaps this is the feeling that invokes ultimate fear in the minds of all who live when it comes to the subject called “Death”…

It’s a trip beyond wild, honestly.

Saya no Uta – Human nature

Saya no uta

[The first time we met/]

“Saya no Uta” is a visual novel about a guy named Fuminori, who goes through a terrible car accident, which damages his brain in a way that causes him to see the world and the people in it as a horrifying and grotesque piles of flesh. His sense of smell and taste change alongside, making his everyday life a living Hell furthermore. However, while he still recovers from the accident at a hospital, a lone girl appears before him – Young, beautiful, human- like – As seen among the meat-walls, from Fuminori’s own perspective. Mystery envelopes her presence and origins, along with a further enrolling quest of a [father] person that she seeks. [She tends to avoid people, but likes scaring the patients in the hospital, who react to .her. in a pretty “unique” way.] Fuminori however sees her as a light of hope for his dark world, one that could potentially save him from going completely insane. A bound is formed between the two, due to the heavy burden of loneliness through which both have suffered. Fuminori promises the girl, who introduces herself as Saya, that he’ll help her find this [father] person. Soon after he leaves the hospital, Fuminori is joined by Saya at his home. Saya appears to be quite secretive about her actions and doings, but eventually, her true nature is exposed…

The reason why she is the only person that Fuminori can see normally in the flesh- prison, bowling alley is because Saya herself is an actual eldritch abomination, who appears the same way to people, as they do to Fuminori after the accident. Regardless, Fuminori’s tolerance keeps the bound intact, what with the further enhance due to a sexual intercourse and him letting Saya do the cooking. It’s pretty weird in a way… I mean, who would let anyone else cook for them?…

Fuminori being secretive about his condition and his new weird habits soon attract the attention of his “former” friends/// .^ colleagues from the medical university he’s studying in. Their persistence to learn the truth crosses paths with Saya’s goals [?] and she makes sure to punish them well. “When death seems like a bliss, don’t slap the grin off my face!” Saya is a being that learns fast – a strong predator with regenerative body perk – Unmatched opponent for normal humans, especially if they are unarmed. [?onecanwonder]

“Saya no Uta” is not all that long. There are a total of four choices that you can pick from, each leading directly to a different ending. [One of the choices from first pair leads to the second pair.] Depending on what you pick, Saya will either leave Fuminori after she cure his brain, die at the hands of his colleagues[?] OR get pregnant and release stuff that will mutate the whole planet into meat- salad, hell- topping.

As a whole, everything from soundtrack and graphics to writing and plot development is on a pretty high level of FANTASTIC! Overall, “Saya no Uta” is a wonderful experience, so one should make sure to explore every single bit of it.

[How they saw it/]

“Saya no Uta” is a Japanese, horror VN about a girl named Saya, who despite her cute- loli look, is an actual eldritch abomination! The game features grotesque imagery and the main protagonist even has sex with Saya, which is weird, considering what she really is. I’m not sure how to feel about this whole scenario… I haven’t finished the game yet as it seems to drag on for quite a while. Maybe I’ll do it at some point in the future… I don’t know. I was actually looking for an erotic game to suggest to my friend and his wife, but I’m having second thoughts about picking this one. Someone told me about “Bible Black”, so I guess I’ll go with that…

Saya no Uta 1.1 DONE!

[ A Flare’s Extra Xerosis – Dancing in the rain on a giant pie/]

What is the actual purpose of Saya’s presence within’? Perhaps most people would see her as an unique form of a lover, residing within’ a very specific situation. While this is true, there is more to it. Saya’s general appearance and various confrontations with the rest of the character cast shatters expectations and ideals from sides all over. One life she turns into heavenly utopia, while others – to dirt and below, where even worms can’t sing. In “Saya no Uta”, one is to see the true nature of humanity and how fragile it is to changes. The future of tomorrow is never clear. So are the relations between “beings”, so are the goals that they seek. Saya is but a mere example of a major change that could occur and affect humanity.

In return, humanity affects Saya as well. She learns about the true horrors of our constantly changing nature and gradually develops similar ideals like us. Is she afraid? Is she sad? In the end, our understandings can go “this” far, so in retrospective, so could have hers.

“Saya no Uta” is the butter on my crumbly toast!

Looking at the western comic adaptation, I noticed how low on focus is this general aspect that gave the novel it’s main flavor. If anything, it was presented in a pretty rough way, to the point where I think it might be accidental. I don’t think the story or art is bad, I just think that it feels like a weird, alternative – westernized spin- off. Fans say “No’! What do THEY even know? Fuckers!

Asahina Mikuru no Yoko Scroll Action – Contact lenses are weapons, Mikuru beam is blue – This platformer is hell, especially if you are new!

It was the Golden Age of anime, as Suzumiya Haruhi emerged from the emerald gardens of Japan and everyone accepted her as their literal goddess and the best anime/light novel ever made. Eventually, the Haruhi Lemmings would later become corrupted with the influence of Lucky☆Star, transforming into what we now call a man in his early 30s working at McDonald’s. I however, learned of Haruhi due to someone making a character model of her for M.U.G.E.N. To be fair, due to that platform, I pretty much got into toehoe, anime and doujin games in general. At least that’s how it used to be in the past, nowadays I just pay bills and shower three times a week.

Once I finished watching the whole of season one and read at least one chapter from the light novel, I craved to find and potentially play what Haruhi-based games might exist. I was madly in love with the series [until season two], due to the fact that it gave me a new and unique sensation, saying that as I person who mainly grew up watching few anime shows originating from the 70s to 90s. It’s like having your first crush on a girl in middle school, until you find about “Age of Empires II”!

There was this one game where you play as Haruhi herself and you get to move around the screen and shoot at falling stars and aliens. It was pretty colorful and fun, a game that I still like to this day! Another one was a game where you fight in a 3D arena. It was also pretty fun, but it ran fairly slow on my older PC. It had a good variety of characters and unlockables. I might consider revisiting it at some point in the future, who knows?

AND then, there was THIS! “Asahina Mikuru no Yoko Scroll Action” is a platformer based on that one bit from the Haruhi series, where the main cast makes a movie about magic, action and contact lenses shooting beams.

In the game, you take control of Asahina Mikuru, who sets on an adventure through EIGHT stages, all composed of literal, boring – gray platforms, like-like enemies, which tend to spawn in silly numbers as the game goes on and bosses who tend to become desperate, which makes them go to the most left side of the screen in an attempt to escape to a better game. As it is quite impossible for them to perform that action, they usually end up using their attacks off screen or they turn and start spamming them at you! It’s a wonderful world, especially if you consider Haruhi’s hard-to impossible to dodge explosion attack, unless you quickly go behind her or you hold yourself way up in the air via a special weapon.

Asahina DONE! I think

The bread and the butter of the platforming in this game is pretty much knowing how to time your double jump, as well as keeping a steady running momentum. While this game offers quite the arsenal, normal enemies are not that big of a deal. The most they can do is usually caught you off guard during your double jump and push you into a pit. Your default weapon is good enough to deal with most treats, not that good against bosses, really. If you lose your special weapon, you are more or less screwed during late-game bosses. How efficient the special weapons are really depends on their type and the location. Some weapons might make a certain part of a stage go like a breeze or another feel like hell on the slow bus show. You have the opportunity to switch them quite often, which is pretty nice. PICK THE CLOSE RANGED – WAVE WEAPON TO MAKE SHORT WORK OF ANY BOSS! Bosses can be a pain, especially due to their randomized movements and attack patterns. Fighting them usually revolves around being at a certain safe spot and in few cases – The RNG mercy! In few cases. This game is quite doable in 1CC, even without losing a life!

I don’t have anything to say about the music and the graphics really, they don’t feel all that special or impressive as a whole. They are OK! The difficulty of this game goes really high up after the forth stage. Stage five to eight is like a new game plus, where the first four stages are redesigned and bosses receive a few improvements in their attack patterns. Stage seven especially is the one which might be the reason for a player to drop this game. You could say that it’s pretty difficulty and it requires a series of precise platforming, along with keeping your momentum up all the time! What’s even worse is that sometimes when you think you’ve jumped off the edge of a platform, it would turn out that you were actually starting to fall and the jump that you used was your second one, which means that YOU DIE! [Similar experience I had in the first “Jumper” game!]

My advise for that level is to adjust your position on the platforms every now and then! While it might kill your momentum a little bit, it will secure you a steady position for your next jump, because honestly, you don’t really need all that much speed to make it to most platforms!

Another advise from me is that you should kill as many enemies as you can, so you can increase you life counter. The last stage even has enough enemies to supply you each time with a single life, so even if you lose at the boss, you pretty much have unlimited tries! Wait, you do have unlimited tries! The continues are unlimited! But what fun is this game if you don’t get the awesome secret message for the no continue run, right?

Overall, this game is pretty bland and it pretty much capitalized on a hyphy trend for its time. I like it for what it is though. Like, no adore! 4.7 out of 10!!!

177 – Special Valentine’s day event! How cuddling and hand – holding saved the life of my pet fly Humphrey!

How could I even say “Yes” to her? She might have stared at me in disapproval with her chestnut-brown dark eyes, but it was me who was truly disappointed! If she is unwilling to travel to the center of the Earth to find my corpse and mourn about my death, I am not really expecting her to fight the giant cyborg-monster later either! I mean, come on! “They” put a lot of effort into stealing and using my brain to bring that pile of garbage into motion! Then again, it’s just easier for her to close both eyes, sigh and go home! That won’t solve anything though! If anything, she is bound to keep her title of being an old lady that nobody likes, let alone LOVE! What awaits her within’ the burning depths of her hellish home is just more dirty underwear all over the place and week old popcorn, scattered like a pack of sheep on the floor.EXTRA BUTTER!

Her cat is not even going to come and greet her! The cat is death. It killed itself because it hated “her” so much! It was to be expected, as suicide cases tend go in high numbers around people who can’t acquire all 200′ “chests”. Yes! That’s right! You go and look at yourself in the mirror! Who can admire those disgusting slabs of meat-flesh, mainly your “Adventure Island” pair of eggplants?! If you think that you have a sexy legs and a nice ass, then I have news for you! You are absolutely right! But one can see just as much at the stare of the vile Medusa! “Hello, Medusa? I’m sorry about earlier… How about a cup of coffee and some “Jason X” tonight?” is what she thought I would say. And I did.

There is a hook and bait for every fish and fish for every bait and hook. The reason why you are alone on Valentine’s day is because you value the life of every fish and you would rather let them back in the water. I won’t though! They might drown!!!

Happy Valentine’s day everyone!

The “I’ve finished 100 NES titles” special,AKA “Once upon a time, here – Look at my junk from the past!”

…and what better way to celebrate a silly event, than post one heck of a pile o’text! To be honest,I’ve wanted to write about this for a long time and I guess now is a pretty good time to do so…

I’ve never had any experience or contact with video games until the age of four.I was taught how to read at the age of three and most of my attention was focused around books and magazines. At the age of four, which was in 1996,I was introduced to video games with a device which everyone called “Tetris”.It was a small, handheld device with few games on it – “Tetris”,”Snake”,”Tanks”, “Racing”,”Frogger”,”Arkanoid” and whatnot. There were various models of that device and each contained certain games from that list. The graphics were simple – Pixelated, black on white screen.Similar to the Atari 2600,if not even more simple!I remember playing on it quite a bit,but not too much,as the games there were not all that exciting for me.I remember that we used to turn the sound off, since it was really annoying and it drained the batteries pretty quickly!I think I had a total of three of those devices, with only one surviving to this day and age.The others – Lost in time and space…

…of course,it was manifactured by the chinese quinks!

After that,my next real experience was at a game center/club in our city, where they had various arcade games.Sadly,I was too short back then and I couldn’t see or reach anything… My brother didn’t allow me to get too close to the machines or touch them, let alone try to play on them… At the age of six,my parents took me and my brother to a game center at a neighbour city, where we played bowling and on some of the arcade machines.I remember playing a game where I had to shoot at soldiers with a gun,but everything was really chaotic and I couldn’t understand anything.I think that I also panicked, since my whole family was around me,yelling at me and the game. What I remember from that arcade game was that there was a guy with a shield who threw grenades at me,so I had to to time my shots and get him when his guard was down.At the same time I had to shoot the grenades while they were flying at me and…there were also other enemies and yeah…

…I was not experienced enough to deal with that game…

Years later, when I was in second grade, during one of our school trips,we went to that game center again.I remember playing “Metal Slug” back then AND I also remember how someone stole and put all of my coins in some fighting game that I really didn’t liked… To be fair, from all the games there, only “Metal Slug” grabbed my attention.Surprisingly,no-one else cared about it,so I had the game all for myself…

At the age of eight to ten,I was briefly introduced to PC games as well.We had lots of clubs and me and my brother spent quite some time there, playing games like “Age of Empires”,”Star Craft”,”Half-Life”,”Heroes of Might and Magic III” and many more.Around that time my parents bought me my first PC,where I spent a lot of time playing games like “Diablo II”,”Heroes of Might and Magic III-IV”,’Warcraft III”,”Age of Empires I-II”,”Quacke II”,”Serious Sam: The First and Second Encounter”… I played shitton of games on my PC,but lets not go too far into it…Maybe some other time…

The real deal during my period from age five to age ten was the Famiclone. Now,what’s even more weird is that my first experience with the NES brand was with the original device, which my cousins bought and showed me when I was about to become five years old. What I remember from that time is that me and my brother went to their house to watch them play.I had no idea what was going on the screen, but it looked really fun. They were of course, playing “Super Mario Bros.”.I don’t know what happend to their NES later on,but they gave us their controllers for some reason.

I loved to push the buttons and pretend that something was happening.OH, CHILDHOOD!

Then, two months after I reached the age of five,my mother called in one day, saying that she and my brother were going to pick me up from my grandma [I lived at my grandma until the age of seven.] and we were gonna go and buy “NES”.

Ultimately,it end up being a Famiclone!To this day and age,its still intact,my 19  years old Famiclone… “TERMINATOR 2”!

The day we bought it,we played things like “Duck Hunt”,”Super Mario Bros.”,”Dr.Mario”,”Wild Gunman”,”Hogan’s Alley”,”Galaxian”,”Legend of Kage”… That’s all I can remember. It was a really special moment in my life and…yeah. From that point on,I just started playing every day on it.Day by day. My thumbs deformed from pushing the buttons all the time and I was scarred for life. Then I started buying more cartridges…I traded with the other kids who also had their famiclones… GOOD TIMES!
