This is a relative short game made with the RPGbaker 2003, which I played once years ago, during my harsh university years. It brought me lots of joy back then! For how simple the game is, I really had no complains whatsoever in general. Things haven’t changed a lot since then. By that I mean that the game is still as sweet and nice as I remember it.

I honestly think that the biggest plus of this game is the fact that the made “Me” as an actual NPC. Now how can I rate this title less than 1 million out of 10?

There are several cameos of characters from other spicy RPGshaker titles from back then, along with references to other popular games and media. Now in my book, that’s a good video game design, especially when you show off that you have a good taste via it.

But for real, it’s the beautiful artwork and color scheme that adds an unique and fresh look to the game, despite it’s unoriginal formula of casual fetch quest. The game is just the right length for one to not get bored and be left with a satisfying feeling. This is how you make a short and enjoyable game. This title is one good example. Maybe I am being too generous over the butt of my own head, but that’s how it is I guess…

The plot of the game is quite simple. The main character is not a Demon girl, but rather, a Ram! Everyone in town is part animal. Now get this, you are looking for the pet rabbit of the main character, so you have to ask the mayor, who is part rabbit too, to let you out of town! Tell me how many games you’ve played with such an interesting turn of events? None for sure!

The characters in the town are some of the nicest animal people ever. You get to solve a math problem and find missing photos for an album. The second one is optional. In case you are having problem doing so, just make sure to talk to everyone about everything. Take note that some characters might have different responses, depending on how far into the game you might be.

I am really glad that I decided to play this game yet again. Did you know? This is the first game of its developer! BING! We have a first timer quality madman yet again! I wish those would happen more often. I wish I would post more often.

I told you already that this game is 1 billion out of 10. Do I even have to repeat myself? Sheesh!

OneShot – But not really!

This game was requested many times by “camelpuncher”, a person who gets shot at least once a day, because that’s what living in a capital city is all about!

“I wish I could make a beautiful, unique and involving puzzle game on RPGMaker” – The spider in the corner of my room.

When I was first introduced to “OneShot”, I had weird expectations about the game. With its concept of having only one chance, one gameplay session, I thought it would try to be mean and send me over to the abyss of canned tuna, if I screw up at some point in the game. However, it turned out that the game is pretty generous about it, a bit too much for its own good perhaps. Getting the bad ending depends literally on you choosing to quit at any point, before you get to the end. Apart from that, the game also makes auto- saves and forces you to take brakes every now and then. It’s a one- shot type of deal where you can really take your time, but not really! Considering how short “OneShot” is, the player is unlikely to be in real need of a break between every ten to twenty minutes of a gameplay session. Given that we live in the era of busy machines, office parties and where everyone has some mental disorder, the job edition, there could always be a case of someone making use of those breaks – A true hardcore gamer who plays only for a bit each day, while investing the rest of their time into “actual” work. The word [actual] here can be understood in more ways than one!

In my opinion, if one is to make a short game, a good idea would be to work on making the game leave a strong impression on the player or having a decent replay value. With the way and idea this game was made, both of these are pretty much nonexistent. The game restricts itself for the sake of appearing unique, without the need to really do so. I notice the lack of commitment and dedication from the plot and the main character. So here we are, this is Niko, a cat person, but not really! Just because someone has the features of a cat creature, that does not necessary makes them related. You get to save a world by bringing a big light bulb to a place, but not really! The world is already dying due to other reasons and your quest won’t fix that – As acknowledge by the game itself via the words of a certain NPC. Now why is that? Did this game really need to try and appeal deep and whatnot itshowuwantittobe crap?  Maybe it was all experimental – After all, there is also a remastered version of the game on Steam, which supposedly covers most of the problems presented within’ the original release. Supposedly.

OneShot 1.1 DONE!

The art in the game is pretty great. Same goes for the music. They manage to create a pretty unique atmosphere, that fits well with the few location that you get to explore in the game. The character design is decent, but you usually meet characters once and off you go then. You are, after all, on a quest to save the world, but not really, as we just discussed. The puzzles are alright, but they are not all that difficult, mainly due to the fact that “there so much you can do” syndrome is presented. Watch out though! The game will break the fourth Chinese vase and try to make YOU part of the game, while installing many copies of “Earthworm Jim: The simulator” on your computer PC machine, without your permission! Your hidden bitcoin stashes might also be in danger!

Killer Bear – Confusion within’ the cutscene

“Killer Bear” is a RPGMaker game that takes on the classic horror -slasher genre, with a pinch of light- hearted feeling to the overall atmosphere. As you take on the role of [Mike], you are invited to a house party, on which a rumor about a serial killer named “Killer Bear” arise. It’s a fairly short game, despite the many possible endings that one can achieve. The game focus is mainly on decision making, regarding actions that may or may not lead to the death of the people inside the building.

What I really enjoyed about this game is the composition of the various endings. Rather than feeling like a different outcomes to one grand story, the way they are made makes you feel like you are playing through a different plot setup each time. The role of the [Killer Bear] character also changes with that and I think this is the selling charm- point of the game.By “changes” I mean given to and shuffled through certain characters, with the whole idea of a serial- killer being DEAD – real or nonexistent completely!

Ideally, for a maximum amount of satisfaction, you should go for the full – experience playthrough and try to get all the endings!

Killer Bear 1.7 DONE!

I don’t really have any actual complains regarding this game. The graphics are pretty cute and neat. The music… it’s there! Along with the sounds! It’s quite the amazing statement, alright! As a whole, it’s pretty solid game, no less! Though, to be fair, I did had trouble with getting ‘Ending A’! It’s not like I didn’t had the general idea of trying to keep everyone within’ the house alive, it just took me a while to figure out how to do so. For one thing, I was unaware of the fact that I can take action during some cutscenes. Maybe that’s due to the fact that you are given a fairly short amount of time to take action and do the right thing, along with some vision obscure further on. All the trouble that I had with that, I blame myself for not reading more carefully the [Read Me] file, which… tells you about this little gimmick. TAKE NOTES KIDS, TAKE NOTES!!!

Rumors say that I consider this to be a 8.5 out of 10 video game… WHAT?!?!

Moonlight Ghost – Smashing pot hit!

“Moonlight Ghost” is a game made in [RPGMaker – Universe Unlimited] that I’ve played a few years ago and despite having hard time with the post- game boss, [After over 20 tries I gave up…] this game left me with a reasonably good impression. As I revisited this title yet again, I can say that my opinion on it managed to retain it’s position from past perspective. I’m really glad I came back to it once more!

Entitled “A reverse horror game, where you do the horror!”, this game is more of a enjoyable, “take your time” – comfortable experience, with fairly low difficulty. if you exclude the final two missions. The plot revolves around a Boy who, under the influence of the moonlight which was being powered by MAGIC, departs from his body and becomes a ghost. By acquiring this new form, the Boy becomes invisible to normal eyesight, thus, his main priorities shift to sneaking into women’s bathrooms and breaking the unlimited supply of barrels and pots in the city, along with playing the piano, ring church bells and throwing stuffed teddy bears into water wells, which is of course ruining a tradition from over a millennium! The truth is though, that you do all these things, [Except for the first one which never happens!] for the sake of making noise and scaring people around town. While the Boy has various reasons for scaring certain people, most of them are usually with good intentions, wherein sometimes even he is not aware of it until a certain point.  There are four chapters in total plus a bonus one, all bundled together with a pretty nice plot, good number of characters, enjoyable dialogue and even some exploration in the post- game chapter! There are secrets everywhere and you should try to find them all!

Let me tell you about the actual gameplay through! It feels like such a simple formula, yet it manages to be really entertaining. Why?

In each mission, there is a target. The target is a person that moves and it’s your job to scare them and delay them from reaching their objective in time. You accomplish this by attracting/ “scaring” them with noise, either by breaking, moving or interacting with certain item/ switch. Each person has a radius around their body, which picks on the noise that you make. The various noises that you make have their own radius as well, which plays quite the role in attracting/ “scaring” the target. Barrels and pots can be pushed and combos can be made by “scaring” the target multiple times in a row, which rewards you a huge amount of extra points! How does this all shape the gameplay? Despite how seemingly simple the initial idea sounds, you can tell that speed and strategy would be needed if one is to achieve good results! You don’t get anything from scoring an “S” rank on all the missions… YOU DON’T! Well, there is the satisfaction… but… I really wanted some unique reward… dammit…!!! To be fair, scoring an “S” is actually pretty easy, as long as you make sure that you get the maximum combo on each screen. A good advice – Try to either make the target run around a table or bring him/her all the way back from the exit to the start of the screen! This is especially crucial in the very last stage, where every step and combo is of the essence! The actual final boss “The Spirit Queen” is more about proper timing, as her speed is pretty INSANE! I’m glad I managed to finally beat her though, all in less than 10 tries! /////

Moonlight Ghost DONE!

The music was also pretty enjoyable and the graphics/art are quite pretty and colorful. You also get to unlock some art pieces, with some lewd art in between here and there. I’m sorry if you are Christian and you have problem with hair covering boobs or underwear on butts, but that’s just how God decided to test you! You can watch or you can go back to making your healthy meal of oats and frog milk, but let me tell you, there isn’t a third opinion and none of the initial two will lead you to Christian happiness! As for me, this game has lead me to my own happiness of giving it a solid 8.5 out of 10. I wish there were more difficult levels and maybe something could have been done to the plain nature on some of the characters. Is this last one even an actual problem or me trying to find excuses not to fully appreciate this game? I think the answer here is pretty obvious…
